The evolution of bookmark services

Hi!

Today we are going to analyze the evolution of bookmark services.

So, it all started with delicious with a nice friendly web 2.0 interface, with options for sorting links by different tags, etc. For convenience, labels can be grouped into bundles. But then there was a rumor about the possible closure of delicious — and the termination of support for this service. So, people had to explore some new online bookmarks such as:

Visual bookmarks TOP-PAGE

In addition to visual bookmarks that can be expanded and the desired function as —synchronization with them from another computer, the service also offers a search bar and 20 background images to choose from.

Visual bookmarks WEBSTARTPAGE

The functionality of this service is supplemented with a weather informer, otherwise it is the same basic features as all services of this subject, an unlimited number of visual bookmarks and synchronization with them.

QMOS visual bookmarks

The advantage of these visual bookmarks is in a fairly loyal interface and mobile version, unlike previous services, there is no possibility of expanding bookmarks and a search bar.

Visual bookmarks "Online Bookmarks"

A feature of this service is the setting of the window grid, the number of columns can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally by setting an arbitrary number of windows on each line.

As for me, I use google chrome bookmarks, because I like to keep it simple.

Improve your language skills using online services and multimedia soft

Today i'd like to share my opinion about some  online services and multimedia soft connecting with language learning. Rosetta Stone The subscription is not free, so I didn’t really get the chance to try it. Auralog's Tell Me More programm In my opinion this service is kind of outdated and there is a narrow variety of audiobooks and films. http://literacynet.org/learningresources There is not enough of the given information. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/esl/index.html Here you can read theory, but can not practice. I would at least add small tests. So, here are TOP 3 services i like the most: Free English pronunciation Course program I think this source is really useful, because it’s important to improve your pronunciation by watching videos made by native speakers. And also I’m familiar with Heather Hansen, the tutor, because on our 1st year in university we used to watch her video “Chaos”. And since then I’ve watched a couple of her videos. www.esltower.com/ It’s...

Web 1.0, 2.0 & 3.0

Hi! Today we are going to    learn more about the critical distinctions between Web 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0. Web 1.0 is a cognition-techno-social system. Humans use networked information technologies as a medium to publish their ideas and engage with the opinions of others. My WIKI experience

So, I’ve studied TEFLPedia and here is my review on it. Teflpedia is a wiki covering everything associated with teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL). It currently has 189 sets of conversation questions for use in your EFL classroom and 5,792 entries in its TEFL Glossary. This aims to summarise everything teachers need to know about TEFL, with a major focus on the linguistics of English and the pedagogy of foreign language teaching. Teflpedia is generally closer to a glossary (which tends to have short articles) than an encyclopedia (which tends to have longer entries). That is, it gives definitions of TEFL-relevant terminology, with examples of that terminology. More encyclopedia-like content may be developed in the future. Relevant fields covered include (deep breath) English linguistics, including usage, grammar and discourse, language acquisition, education theory and educational psychology including language learning and teaching pedagogy, language testing (includi...
